Bernard M. Walker is an American singer, actor, and songwriter. He was born in November 1981 at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital. He is from Newark, NJ and during his preteen years he relocated to Dinwiddie, VA. His dynamic, octave-leaping range, bordered by low, resonating chest tones, and ear-splitting falsetto flourishes, will astonish listeners every time he sings. He has been exposed to many genres of music but is most influenced by gospel, jazz, funk, neo-soul, rhythm & blues, and pop.

 

Bernard singing career skyrocketed when he became one of the lead vocalists with The Virginia State University Gospel Chorale. He has won many awards to include: Most Outstanding Male Vocalist (Mid Atlantic Collegiate Gospel Choir Competition) and Most Outstanding Male Vocalist (National Black Music Caucus Collegiate Choir Competition), toured extensively across the USA, Canada, and overseas to include: north and south Italy, France, Switzerland, Romania and Hungary. Along with The Chorale, he was featured singing for the past and present Pope’s Christmas Gala held at The Vatican in Rome, Italy, featured when they won The Gospel Heritage Praise and Worship Conference Choir Competition, featured when they won People’s Choice for the 2012 Verizon’s How Sweet The Sound Choir Competition DC Region, and featured in Season 8 of NBC's America’s Got Talent making it to the quarterfinals.

 

Bernard has been featured on many projects, such as; “I Want to Be There” on the debut album of Patrick Riddick and D’vyne Worship

entitled “A Song for Every Worshipper; background vocals on Kathy Holmes’s debut album entitled “My Testimony” and as well as Michelle Cheeseboro’s debut album entitled “Every Where I Go”. Bernard is also featured on Willie Marshall and 1accord’s debut album on the track entitled “Belongs to You”.

 

Bernard currently resides in Capitol Heights, Maryland. Being signed as a gospel artist to Minstr'EL Music Records, many are sure to be on the lookout for his dynamic new music in 2018!
